After a few days in Los Angeles, Lydia and Tim headed out to Joshua Tree. Their first stop was the legendary recording studio Rancho de la Luna to hang out with owner Dave Catching.
Catching is a busy man. Aside from being a producer and recording engineer, he also plays guitar. Dave has been the guitarist for well-known bands Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Tex and the Horseheads, The Ringling Sisters, earthlings?, Mondo Generator and the Masters of Reality. That is not all, Dave also is a great cook and has his own Mezcal brand.
Lydia and Tim talk with Dave about growing up in Memphis Tennessee where his older brother introduced him to the guitar. Lydia and Dave share a lot of common friends and collaborators and they share many great stories related to these shared bonds. The discussion is very lively as it is fueled by Rancho de la Luna Mezcal and Dave's tasty homemade salsa.
