Mariam Atash is an attorney with experience in the business, government relations, media and nonprofit sectors. She serves on the United States Institute of Peace Gender and Law Working Group. She has also been an adjunct professor of law at The University of La Verne School of Law.
Mariam was a senior advisor to the Commercial & Trade Counsel at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, DC. She has taken part in numerous international conferences and speaking engagements on issues related to economic development, legal reform, women’s rights, and civil society capacity building.
Zohra Atash, Mariam's sister joins her on this episode to discuss their involvement with the Nooristan Foundation, which is a non for profit that provides education for Afghani street children, trains impoverished women to become entrepreneurs and helps bring electricity and education to remote villages in Afghanistan.
